MY THOUGHTS

I've currently been reading the bible (NLT) and there are some inconsistantcies , and contridictions in it...how ever to say it is completely fiction and not to be taken literally is wrong, in my opinion.

I don't know everything there is to know about the Bible (who exactly wrote it, when or why it was that it was written over 100 years after Christ ) but I do know that it is the living word and although it was written by man and not by God himself, I feel that most of what it says in the bible is not fiction. It is my belief that there are things that have been misinterrperted and/or omitted by man for his own benefit. Take in to consideration what time period this was written in and what mind set society was in back then. Women weren't seen as equal to men, and slavery was a normal thing ... I personally don't find it THAT offensive but I am sure that other folks will... Opinions?
