Why is the word bologna spelled "bologna" when its pronounced "baloney"?It boggles the mind doesn't it? well it sure as hell boggles mine! so i did some research and here's what i came across.

Because it refers to the city of Bologna in Italy where that style of preparing meat supposedly came from. However, if you went to Bologna, they probably wouldn't have any idea what that stuff is. They have something similar called Mortadella.
